Illinois Lowers LLC Fees: When Less Is More
Until recently, the cost of operating as a limited liability company (“LLC”) in Illinois was near the highest in the nation. With the signing of SB867 on December 20, 2017, Illinois has now significantly reduced the cost of starting and operating an LLC in the state. This fee reduction is aimed to both help foster a business environment in Illinois that is friendlier to start-ups and entrepreneurs as well as to provide significant savings to the thousands of LLCs already operating in the state.
